UK Ancestry Visa

Due to an unavoidable fee increase with British Immigration, the price of the UK Ancestry Visa is set to increase. Please contact a Visa First representative or register for further details.
The UK Ancestry Visa was designed for Commonwealth nationals
who can immigrate in the UK provided they have a grandparent who was born in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. This visa is as well applicable for a person who has a grand-parent born in Ireland before 1922 (the year of partition).

The initial stay you will be granted if your application is successfully decided will be 5 years. After 5 years you will be eligible to apply for permanent residence as long as:
  • You continue to meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules for United Kingdom Ancestry, and
  • You have spent the time in employment in the UK in this way, without a break.
If you are admitted to the UK on Ancestry visa your spouse/unmarried partner and your children under 18 years of age will be able to join you provided that they have an entry clearance for this purpose.

As an Ancestry Visa holder you do need a work permit in order to undertake an employment.

Under the Immigration Rules, if you want to travel to the UK through UK Ancestry, you must be able to support yourself and live without claiming certain state benefits.
