It takes 3-6 months to organize your long term business visa for Australia.

As a temporary resident, you will generally not be entitled to free public healthcare, government-funded education or social security benefits. You must also gain approval from the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) to purchase property in Australia.

As a permanent resident, you will receive immediate entitlement to public healthcare, administered through a Government scheme called Medicare. Children aged 6-18 will be eligible to attend public (government-funded) schools in Australia. There is a two year waiting period before you are entitled to receive social security payments, including sickness and unemployment benefits.

Age
You must be less than 55 years old (except where the regional authority considers that the proposed business will be of exceptional economic benefit to the region).

Business Success
You must have an overall successful business career.

Business ownership or management record

• You must have an ownership interest in a main business (or two main business combined) with an an annual turnover of at least AUD$300,000 in at least two of the four fiscal years immediately before you apply. or
• You are a senior manager (as defined).

Significant assets
Your (and your spouse's combined) total assets have a net value of at least AUD$250,000 and were legally acquired and are capable of being transferred to Australia within two years of being granted this visa.

Additional assets
You have sufficient assets (additional to those above) to settle in Australia.

Business role
You have not been engaged in a business where the provision of professional, technical, or trade services took up more than half your time.

Acceptable business record
You (or your spouse) have never been involved in unacceptable business activities.

Committed to business in Australia
You must have a commitment to maintain an ownership interest in a business in Australia and have direct and continuous involvement in management of that business.

Need to live in Australia
You demonstrate there is a need to live in Australia on a temporary basis for business reasons.

Health
You must meet health requirements to enter Australia.

Character
You must be of good character to enter Australia.

1. Passport
   Certified copy of the personal details pages of the passports of all persons included on the application.

3. Photographs
   Four (4) recent passport sized photographs of each person included in the application. All photographs should be of head and shoulders against a plain background. Please print the name of each applicant at the back of each photograph.
   
   
4. Certified copy of a marriage Certificate
   Please attach this if you have been or are currently married.
   
   
5. Certified copy of change of name
   If anyone on the application has changed his or her name.
   
   
6. Certified copies of birth certificates.
   Showing the names of all persons included on the application.
   
   
7. Certified copies of documents to verify custody
   For children less than 18 years of age unless both parents are included in the application.
   
   
8. Certified copies of adoption
   In the case of an adopted child being included on the application.
   
   
9. Certified copies of military service
   If you have served in the armed forces.
